No Mounts fair game-play? Hows that?

well it does change pvp. people run at half speed, but spells have the same cast times.

Not gonna happen. I would bet my life in this. There was some talk about having a mount reward for paladins but I think that was beta players speculating. Az has always said no mounts

Mounts worked in 1999. They don't work properly when everyone has high speed connections IMO, too much of a warp-fest.

I believe the biggest fault with mounts is that it allows for unfair gameplay. I have played servers with mounts allowed and by the time you get a spell up they are way off screen. I don't know why people are even complaining about the no mounts rule, I think its great and it should stand as it is. Also Mounts add in an unfair advantage to pvp because it allows more off-screening and only people who are true newbs want the mounts.

Why not just have mounts but not allow combat or combat spells to be cast while on a mount? And if you are attacked and hit while on a mount you fall off

Yes to mounts! it kills the game-play not to have them and makes it easier to gank people. The fact that the mount thread stays in so long proves a point that it's not so open and shut like people would like to claim. The game becomes sluggish and slow with players (meaning more than one) casting a spell several times before you or they can leave the screen.

When I seen one order player and 3 or 4 chaos players that order player recalls or dies. No fighting just leaving... When riding a mount when people try to gank you (which most of you live for), you could fight slowly off into the distance until there was 1 or two guys and turn and fight. A friend and I were fighting some peeps in shame today for like 30 mins until people started running out of regs. So more of their guild members came in to take a murder count to end it.

Plus the BS about people being the same speed is totally false. I have chased people including friends and while on their screen I'm two tiles away and every third tile or so we pass they hear CHING CHING. They just don't have a chance to get away.

I could go on and on and I'm getting good kills.

1vs1 is fine a little slow but fine. Go ahead now flame on.

Yah I figured as much, some of us are considering if it's going to be worth the time for the character build. The strange thing is in all my post no one, not one single real point has been made against the mount. In some cases people against the mount made a point for the mount indirectly like "Why do you care about mounts anyways? It won't change PvP because both will still has the same speed. No to horses!" Reminds me of how some of the changes were made before the old UO fell. No real point or game-play features just responses to peoples complaints until you in up with insurance for your loot and trammel.
