No Mounts fair game-play? Hows that?

Just curious why the mounts aren't there. I read the whole fait game-play thing but it the end, I'll kill people on a mount off a mount I could care less. I will say this though it really helps those gankers out when I'm red and everyone looks like noobs.

You may have glanced over the part about mounts stressing the disparity between varying distances between the players' physical location and the physical location of the server. No mounts in this instances helps to equalize.

doubt many folks care but stealth templates are worthless on mount enabled servers as well

I'd like to just say , that ANYONE including myself who comes to IPY2 from a server with mounts-- first thing ya say is "hey wtf no mounts im just wasting my time on this 2d peice of **** now arent I??!?11111"

and after about your third day of playin here you dont even remember what a mount is anymore... why?
because you're too distracted by all the l33t **** ipy has to offer, and you simply don't realize you aint cruisin anymore.
Mark scrolls are for sale at many PC vendors, and the NPC scribes in town. Gate travel is out, and quite useable at 65 magery, provided your char isn't starving.

Please, take a few days to try out IPY2 -- you'll be glad ya did

Well I'll live and kill either way. But Mounts are cool and keep the MASS gankers off me. Plus it may help a little with people on slower connects but it still doesn't change it. I've watched on this very server where it was two vs one and the one ran off and I followed them to watch the fight and me and the one guy were soon all alone. It was only about two screens to dust them.

Sorry forgot to add that no matter what you do without mounts every one looks like noobs.

personally, ive never dueled anyone with a mount. ipy's timeset is from a time when people would meet at jhelom farms, get off their horses and have a good duel most often without looting, because its hard to tell who's better when you got horses. after seeing what uo turned into (hybrid/immature greifing...) im glad that theres no horses

I guess it never made a difference to me. There is always something in every competitive game that people make up and decide your not good if you use it. Like when people complained about pots, using the AWP in counterstrike or throwing people in mortal kombat. The strange thing about all the so called "things you shouldnt do in PVP" is the fact that I killed people anyway with it or without it. In the end people hate to loose and if most people had there way they would rather have you running across an open field naked giving them plenty of time to shoot at a distance and kill you before you can lay your hand on them. The funny thing is those same people will claim total and utter victory. My point is I'm not sure if it matters. What's real are things like lag or disconnects. Of course if I have lag or disconnects I just don't PVP on that server/game. Why punish yourself.

meh, mounts or not, whoever is left standing over the corpse is normally/usually the better of the two players imo.
