    allow pvp at the brit gy, people like to log on to a server and see it active and the first place they encounter that is the brit gy. there's tons of places for new players to train, including all the practice dummies but beyond that any other direction out of town/other town gys etc. the brit gy is the heart of any free uo server, especially when you are forced to start in brit, because it creates a buzz of activitiy for everyone.

    I have just seen your posts around and know how you acted when I spent a few minutes poking around the shard. Griefing me in Bucs when I clearly had no macros or reagents? lol.. Your interests are heavily selfish, always have been, always will be. I highly doubt you care much for the overall good of the shard. I'm happy for you that you manned up and learned how to UO PVP in the least complicated era of the game, but I think it's gone to your head a little buddy. Kudos on playing this entire time. I have other obligations that prevented me from complete dedication, but I don't think that makes my opinions on IPY completely unfounded.

    There are tons of posts regarding issues with being a red on the shard, the pvp system, etc etc. Look up things from i fish and sail- , him and some others were dead on early with some of the major flaws in a few of the IPY systems. Some things that highly discouraged the standard PVP that many were hoping to see on IPY. It has since then been toned down, but I think there are still solid ideas that can be pulled from there.

    I fish and sail use to play here?? That's awesome! I played with him back in the OSI pub 16 test, he was badass. To bad i started playing probably after he left IPY.

    My test name for pub 16 (which lasted at least half a year) was bleu. The pub 16 test server was probably the most fun I've had in UO at least faction wise. Insane faction battles sometimes 100-200 people. The PK houses in Yew and Brit were always packed with pks and blues. Good times, and we got a great patch.

    Make maces not destroy armor or do stamina damage.
    Make fencing weapons do less damage.
    Increase hally and katana damage. Disable spell interuption from anything less than circle 5.

    enable heal through poison. increase damage of explosion and ebolt. lower mind blast damage.

    remove anything that potentially effects pvp except COMBAT skills. ie magery, eval int, med, anat, tacts, healing, magic resist and weapon skills. THESE ARE THE ONLY SKILLS THAT ANYONE SHOULD EVER USE.

    make sure magery is better than the rest though because that is how it used to be in old school times. and old UO was the best game ever invented or played, in order to reach the salvation of gaming you need to follow old school UO code to a T.
    Unless this weakens the explosion, hally ebolt combo. This is unacceptable because explosion hally ebolt was intended to be better than everything else in old school UO.

    infact to use the player base effeciently make it so everyone has to choose from 3 templates. Hally Mage,
    Crafter, Stealth PK Mage with only heal, energy bolt and hide enabled.


    If you are able to do this and make sure there is nothing extra added to variety then possibly you will have followed the codex of the greatest game ever imagined that is old school UO. and you shall piss gold and acertain Nirvana.

    There is already an 'oldschool' UO server that follows the T2A pvp templates and mechanics to a 'T'. It is really fun at first, and i must admit the pvp is more dynamic because it is actually oldschool pvp with magic jewelry and magic charged weapons. But it does get old, change is something necessary for games and anything else eventually.

    How many of us still sit around playing our atari because it is so oldschool?

    I think the pvp system on IPY does need to be heavily modified though, i would love to see magic attacks (determined by weapon type) on weapons or at least magic pvp charges, and poison to be a block to magic heal.

    Also poisoning on a mage should increase poison level on casted target.

    lol Auto that is not hardcore. This is a hardcore server and you need to make sure the game is exactly like it was intended to be right after the Med patch, without the un-intentional variety that this accidently added on OSI.

    there needs to be less options. If I wanted options Id play a real life imaginary LARK. Poisoning on a mage!!?? that completely ****ing ruins my gaming experience.

    Some noob running around casting neon green poisons, this could mess with me equipping my Hally too much too.

    what's the reason for no magic charges on weapons any ways? i can see the reason for teleport/invis rings/wands as they are kinda out of hand but whats the reason behind the no swords with fireballs and such, the charges were always fairly low and the spells themselves off the weps never seemed that good to me.

    This kid is just mad he's bad at all pvp. He thinks hes good at Renaissance, but hes not. He just another butt hurt kid who can't pvp, but thinks bitching about good mechanics that are already in place will get things change to mechanics that might help him A LITTLE. The truth of the matter is if you can't pvp on these mechanics, you can't pvp on any mechanics. It's not the rules/mechanics of the shard/server. It's the player. It's always been the player. Learn to play the game before you bitch about stuff.

    On the topic of a wipe...... ..... It should have been done the second day IPY2 was open. Half or more of the early players were exploiting starter gold/items, and it was ridiculous; I saw a keep near brit on the 4th day. Meanwhile, the exploit was fixed, but still not enforced as there were users buying crap like cloth (with the money they couldn't use) and making shirts to sell back and get the money anyway. It wasn't until it was enforced and added to the rules, that people stopped exploiting account farming. I'm sure people still do this in some way though.
    A wipe should have already happened, but now since the server has been open for so long, and already lost a large amount of the player base, a wipe would just destroy ipy. This is where "Critical Thinking" failed. Let people get a leg up with exploiting, then stop the exploiting, and let the late-comers stay lagged behind. Much like RoT, it left the late-comers lagged behind, thus killed any chance of the community growing after the first month. All my buds stopped playing within the first 2 months, partly because of RoT, partly because of Dungeon Gates, partly because of Detectives/Paladins (really stupid additions, no offense az).

    So to get back on topic: PVP changes. Honestly, what needs to be changed? Archery. Archery was worthless when the shard started, and has stayed worthless the entire time. Bandages should be more effective, but i'm not even going to attempt thinking of a way you could change it. Other than that, there is no real changes that need to be made... unless you're removing pallys/detectives.

    - People complaining about heals through poison are just bad pvpers.
    - People who complain about Wall of stone are just bad griefpvpers.
    - People who complain about tele, are just bad mages.
    - Autocyclus is a UO:R style fanboy and should go play on a server that caters to his needs. Why would you even START playing here if you already knew things you wanted weren't going to exist here? Your kind makes me ill.

    PVP doesn't need to be changed, maybe tweaked, but not drastically changed. If you see someone can pull off kills and still get away, with the current system, then you can do it yourself. It takes practice. If practice isn't what you're here for, then go to another shard, or quit UO.
