me personally, the main reason i play ipy and not other uo:r shards is because of population.

i rather play a rule set i dont 100% agree with, when there are a lot of people to play with, than to play with 50 people and "perfect" rule sets.

bottom line is, uo is uo. when we played osi, things were always changing and we always just adapted. the game itself is cool is what makes me come back over and over.

But IPY doesn't have the largest active population anymore...

We didn't just adapt. We all quit when it got really crappy, which is what may happen with IPY.

My point is just that a lot of people came in on the UO:R rule set and a lot of people really like the UO:R era (trammel aside).
The population may have peaked in 2003 with AoS, but it started epically tanking right away as well. Coincidence?

    Hi team,

I think the golden lands is a bad idea. Why? We came here for a classic shard experience, which made UO the game of choice by many. I see nothing wrong with adding new monsters, events, helping pvp and PVE thrive. But a trammel type land? That just screams horrible, and I will say you lost me from putting time in the shard. I really hope you think about this, if anything you'll lose a lot more players including this one.

Want to improve the shard? I see no PR work done got IPY, no posts no threads. Love to see some good video trailers, some new encounters, but that classic ruleset we love. Make this thriving world THRIVE, don't kill off the one good thing you have going for it.

I do not understand why people say it is like Trammel.

It is more like 'Felucca is adding another Felucca. With Mounts and Nox Mages'.

Every player occupies two spaces. Don't think of it as another facet. Think of it as two parallel rulesets.

    Exactly.

Probably the golden lands will boost the population, but the classic experience will be blown away.

Anyway, i will give it a try!

I only have one finished character on the server, a 7x GM tank mage.

Macroing is such a chore. I work an 8 to 5 but logging onto my three accounts in the morning before I leave and starting the macros is just so annoying to me. I have another 6x GM tank mage that's 12.5 points from 7x GM and all I'm doing is not logging on in that character until I'm eligible to get the "Welcome Back to IPY" skill scrolls and using them to skill up.

There's no way I'll be switching over to another facet that requires me to raise skills again on a character that's already 7x GM.

I'll prolly start playing again when 2.5 comes out. Try my best to get a little J-D reunion to as Alice Cooper will like the no stat loss.
