I think the only other online gamers giving IPYers a run for their money in the whine department are the D3 redditors who have invested 200 hours into a game that hasn't even been out a month and they're bored.
I guess I'll have to wait on see on the implementation too, although I'm not thrilled that I would essentially have to start over in order to gain access to the new combat/content, since no items transfer between facets which means I'll have to farm everything from scratch to build those chars (i.e. farm gold just for poisoning) and then farm a ton to maintain and gear those chars. And I'm normally someone who absolutely loves building characters.

As long as IPY 2.5 comes out before the golden lands and we see a boost in pop then it may be a awesome idea! It gives new players a reason to join the server and begin without dealing with all the rich ass people that already exist in IPY 2.0 a shard within a shard if you will. Sounds like he's on the verge of a ton of great ideas if this is just one of many. You guys just need to simmer down keep up with the current gameplay and let the staff do what they do best, think of great new ideas to enhance current gameplay. Even if it takes forever and a day.. :P

The more I think about this idea, the more I like it.

As Az Has said, it just gives more options and brings in potentially new people. There really isn't a bad side imo. Sure you may have to grind new characters, but you don't HAVE to.

And then my players begin to come around.

It's a fairly complex and very different concept. It's easy to hate at first glance, I understand that. But I think it's all upside, and you might too if you give it a chance.

Agreed. There are tons of players who would never come to IPY simply because there are no mounts, or there are no factions, or there is statloss, or whatever. Well, now there's something for everyone... and once they are here, they will think "Hm... maybe I'll pop on over to the old world and check it out", you basically are giving people the best of both worlds. They can pick what they want, and everything else is just a mouse click away should they choose to try it.

I personally don't like T2A PvP compared to UOR PvP, so now if I feel like I want something different I just have to pop over to the other facet. If I wanted to try that other style of PvP I'd have to roll on another shard anyway, at least here I'm still with my guild and we don't have to start over completely from scratch because of the community structure already built up here.

To build on this and to bring in an even greater playerbase, I think staff needs to hire a few Seers to really drive this Undead Invasion. I remember the old Undead Invasion in Trinsic back in the day with Juo'nar and Mallabelle.. it was awesome, there was so much activity day in and day out in Trinsic it made you want to log in and see what was going on. I get UO nerd goosebumps just thinking about it. If we can get that same kind of interaction it would be awesome!

It looks well rounded from over here.

    Edit:

New styles of gameplay, new castle spots, twice as many PvP mechanics, without losing all the work from F2011 to J2012.

Where is the 'bad side' lol

You mean 2x the grind for a castle...New Pvp mechanics? There is a reason those were never on IPY. Its not because "the land wasn't golden enough to implement them". Without losing the work? New players will start on one or the other, pop gets split. If they all start on the new server, your old items have no value as players migrate there so you did lose all the work from F2011 to J2012. Just a few.
