in an interview he talked about if it got big enough making it's own game out of it or whatever. this mod really boosted arma sales i guess. hopefully it shows there's still a market for these type of games since imo most games are taking the opposite direction. i mean hell even this server is pretty carebeared up.

highly recommend this game, although maybe wait till it goes on sale. it's a lot of fun and has some really intense interactions, especially when you are just starting out/learning. it's pretty amazing.

you need to have arma 2 and arma 2: operation arrowhead, you can get them on steam for 30 bucks in the Arma 2: Combined Operations pack. Bohemia Interactive is currently having a 25% off sale on their main site: https://store.bistudio.com/ but their base price on the site is 32.99 instead of steam's 29.99. it's still a better deal at the moment, but most people feel steam is bound to have a summer sale on this. amazon has also had sales in the past where you could pick this up for $15.
i think it's worth the wait for a better deal, unless you plan to play arma 2 itself, because the game is constantly being updated so the longer you wait the better it should be, however i also think it is actually worth 30 bucks in its current state. just depends how badly you want to play it i guess.

i will say it was slightly a pain to get the mod installed and working, but i think it's easier now as they have an actual launcher that auto updates and everything on their main site. keep in mind the mod is in alpha stage, it is buggy and the arma 2 engine itself is pretty clunky and has a bit of a learning curve but it's not too bad. you definitely want some patience for this game though, it can be frustrating but i think it is very rewarding. you'll have a big advantage with a group, i've yet to play with any friends and usually resort to the shoot first strategy because 9/10 the guy you try to help is going to backstab you haha.
