pallys got all kinds of crazy items. its op.

radar detection when people are pked and the anti sync shield. great items when your a pally. horrible when ur a pk.

one account per person would rock. but it's too late for that kind of thing i guess. if you were forced to choose
between being a pk or a paladin and having to deal with that decision would change the game completely.
i could see things working much better that way just because not every veteran player would have every kind of pvp
style char ready to be dispatched at a moments notice.

and check it out we are getting no pallies in golden lands. and i have a feeling they're still getting nerfed in old lands. so i guess they were a problem after all!

i may never set foot on the goldies but. id support no pallys on ipy if...

loot tables are double the current rate in all dungeons.

red attacks and loses to a blue or blues temporary statloss (12-24 hrs) regardless of counts.

the above + no dungeon gates if...

100 resist = 100% resist of the paralyze spell

Let me preface this by saying I don't have a pally.

To those complaining about paladins, would you prefer a T2A accurate scenario instead? Meaning if you rezz while red you take statloss.

If the reds didn't suck no one would complain about pallys

Pretty sure you could res while red without statloss so long as you had less than 5 short term counts. But yeah, if you had more than 5 there was no "pay x amount of gold per short term" and it was triggered by any death, even if you DCed and got killed by a mob.... and there were STILL reds even then. The main difference is they were VERY good at PvP and armed to the teeth. Reds here have it really easy by comparison.

there were a lot of differences between a T2A accurate SERVER and IPY, beyond the statloss scenario that I feel affects the ways reds and everyone in general even played during that era. The community back in that time was not what it is today with all the extra instant communication people use such as a server wide IRC, skype/vent/etc, heck even these forums were not used to the extent they are now. It was basically you had your friends on ICQ and you shot them messages, you weren't easily in contact with the rest of the server, the majority of them were strangers to you. I don't think the in game party system was even implemented yet in T2A. Not to mention the totally different dynamics of being able to recall in and out of dungeons, the MUCH larger population in general, the still relatively freshness of the game, usually one account per person because of a subscription fee, the majority of people didn't use UOA or the equivalent, like people here essentially ALL use razor. less people had their 7x gm templates figured out, the list goes on. It was a totally different world, not just rule set, so I don't see this argument being any good.

as some one who had a red during that time i actually feel it was easier then, than on current ipy. it was easier to get away with murder than here because you didn't instantly have everyone and their mother after you the instant you killed some one. there were more options for places to pk as people actually travelled the world map and hit up all the dungeons.

I still feel the current pally system would probably work best (and was probably designed for) if the server had a huge pop. as it is now every pally has every predictable spot marked off (hey it's shame again!) and everyone shows up immediately. If there were a larger pop and more spread out it'd probably work out a lot better.

yeah what he said (snake). back in those days the learning curve was much much larger and the differences in
good players vs noobs was HUGE (and the fact that not many had gm resist). PKs were not only armed to the
teeth but with way more experience in uo and especially pvp because they were in pvp situations way more than most.
back in those crazy sandbox days shiit went down. a pk clique that consisted of only 2 pks with a ww could own
the whole wall of deceit with many many many people training warrior skills on bone knights.

dont get me wrong... we will never ever see those days ever again. so making an accurate scenario server
just does not make any sense because we are dealing with different kinds of players and a much smaller population.

im totally for pallys in actuality but it would have to be on a much smaller scale than it is right now. the pros of
being a pally are just too huge and the op-ness that comes with it is way out of whack to keep pvp interesting.
