The Independent Role Players are not a guild in the traditional sense. It is rather a way that other role players recognize you as another roleplayer and thus it simplifies interaction.
For whom is this „guild“:
- For players who would like to roleplay but don't have enough time to participate in guild action. The stone will provide the opportunity to engage in role playing even if you only have time to play once a week or every two weeks (nobody will be kicked for inactivity).
- For role players who have a character that does not fit into the exisiting guilds (like elves, trolls, vampires etc.) or whose character is a lone wolf and does not want to be part of a guild.
- For beginners who want to try out role playing but feel overwhelmed by all the rules and guidelines the existing guilds have.
What does being a member of IRP offers you:
It offers you the possibility to be recognized as a role player. No more, no less.
There will be no real GM of the stone, no ranks, no character restrictions, no „guild rules“. However you must obey the rules of the rp community which are being discussed in this thread right now.
If you are not sure about something e.g. what you are allowed to loot and what not you should address this question in the yew forum. The same goes for the behavior of „evil“ characters (thieves, assassins and so on). I hope that the stone will be sooner or later in war with all rp guilds. This does NOT mean, that you can attack all orange players on sight. Being in war is only a method to identify other rpers and to allow fights in the context of rp. As there is nobody who will really check on the behavior of the members of this stone, I will kick anybody without hesitation, if there are complains from somebody of an established rp guild. A few basic rules are: ALWAYS stay in character and behave mature. If you are not sure about something, do NOT do it.
How do I join?
You can join by sending me a pm. We will set a time to meet in Skara Brae and I will add you to the stone, or you ask a member of IRP to make you a candidate for membership. As soon as I get online I will add you to the stone.
I will update this post, if changes occur. However, I strongly recommend, that you keep yourself updated by reading the forums.
