    Magical Scenes in Film

What moment in any movie was just something that blew you away? What scene in any movie was unforgettable?

    1. Rambo: First Blood. The very ending. Rambo is cornered and is convinced to stand-down, he then has a breakdown. He starts reminiscing about his buddy he saw die, and the rejection he's felt after he came home. When he starts to cry and the Colonel stares at him. The helpless look of the Colonel at a man ruined and then discarded. This was before PTSD was talked about much. Stallone made that scene so real and troubling I thought.

I could come up with more..

    2. Great Expectations. When Mrs. Havensham feels the broken heart of Pip, she realizes she caused the same pain that has ruined her for decades, puts her hands over her own broken heart, stands up, walks close to the fireplace, and her dress goes up in flames, burning her alive. As Pip walks away, he hears her wailing in pain.

[To travel in silence by a long and circuitous route. To brave the arrows of misfortune and fear neither noose nor fire. To play the greatest of all games and win. Foregoing no expense is to mock the vicissitudes of Fate and gain at last the key that will unlock the Ninth Gate

As you mentioned in another thread Joker driving through the streets in the cop car was a great scene from a recent movie. Brilliant actually.

Another recent one i enjoyed was in Burn After Reading where brad pitts character is in the car with the guy he's trying to blackmail. Hilarious.

The watch scene from Pulp Fiction.

One of dozens of powerful scenes from City of God

    Fight Club final scene

    The street shootout in Heat.

The phone call in The Departed.

Hell, im not even getting started yet.

Wow, unfamiliar with all those scenes mentioned except the Fight Club scene, that one sent the chilly willys up my spine and the hairs stood up.

I read recently that this was surveyed to be the saddest scene in film.

The moment in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind that Clementine and Joel feel their memories being ripped away from them. Throughout the different scene changes, it just continues to get more emotional and painful as they realize how much they are actually losing, both good and bad.

This was very interesting, the movie seemed tragic as I was watching it. I would rank this scene with Vanilla Sky's ending for myself. Both good.

    A) That's not an insult to me, but it does say something about your character.

    B) You had already said the Fight Club scene. From that moment, we spent days playing "watch for Tyler Durden" in the first half of the film.

I was one of the few that loved Vanilla Sky. It's not a Tom Cruise movie, he just happens to appear in it.

I was just kidding. Shes right, that was a great scene.

I dont really get tear jerker moments anymore, but as a kid i remember a few from disney movies. Bambis mother dying. Simba running back to face Scar. Beast watching as the last petal drops.
