hey.. still selling webs & stones?
i am on IRC: setra
hey your PM box is full.
It would be very cool to make it resource based, say a standard guard costs 100 ore and 100 food, 100 gold, and ranking them up or giving them better weapons/armor takes more, an archer could require more wood than iron, etc.
I'd also love to see something like the township system on AI implemented here. Not sure if you know anything about it, but that was always one of my favorite systems. You could either do it for player run cities or the NPC cities. The main idea was you could create walls, as well as hire various NPCs to make your town better. Everything from a reg vendor up to a stablemaster and banker were available. You could also set the rules within the city, IE no gate in/out, lawless and lawful, PKing allowed or counts given respectively, set looksouts, and so on.
Obviously you've got plenty to do right now, thats just me thinking a year down the road as the shard and systems develop
So just some things I've been mulling over. I understand we'll be able to hire NPCs with the town system, but how deep will it go? I'd love to see it progress to the point where it is something like this: You can hire the NPC, say he starts at something similar to a newb char in terms of skills. Give him some clothes, and a newb weapon, and not much else. After that, its up to the citizenry to determine how much they want to put into the guards of their cities. Let them train them up, equip them with better armor, weapons, and so on. It would create a nice gold sink, as well as add some depth to the system. It would allow different kings to give their city a sense of uniqueness, by dressing them differently. Maybe on king cares a lot about his citizens, and has the best trained guards in the game, while another couldn't give a **** and allows his people to be PK'd at will because he doesn't pay his guards.
