Reading the Paralyze thread for a bit and a lot of talk of new UO players came up in the argument an idea came to mind.

I played UOSA for a bit and after coming back from not playing UO for a long time found their wiki super helpful.

With new features not seen anywhere else, along with many concepts that are (still, sadly) foreign in many MMOs, I think that a IPY Wiki makes a lot of sense.

Az, are there any plans of standing one up during beta?

That would be a great idea

Yeah, I'd like that. For IPY 2 to be based around so many new original ideas, features and changes, I'm surprised they aren't listed out in detail anywhere (to my knowledge). I know the main page has them briefly advertised but the flash moves too fast to catch them all in one go. And even then when you do read them all they aren't very specific. Though, I could just be an idiot and they're in some obvious place that I overlooked.

Anyone care to flesh out the main features being added? King, Paladins, Pirates, Detectives, PvE, Fair Play, Crafting, O/C, Portals, Virtues, etc.

An IPY wiki would be fantastic for newbies

I also think a wiki would be cool because it would document the whole thing. I think it's sort of a bummer that I have all of these fond UO memories, but a lot of it just kind of blurs together. It would be cool to look back at the wiki years down the road and actually be able to put the whole story back together.

As we start getting closer , any chance of getting a wiki set up. There is a lot we still dont know but the basics could get added in so we have a good place to start.

Just to revisit an old point made here, the 10-in-10's are more of overviews without much actual meat. A Wiki would be helpful in answering detail-oriented questions like:

How do you become a citizen to a town?
What abilities will kings have?
How do you set two prices on a vendor, and does it affect only vendors in town or any vendor you own?
How do you leave one?
At what skill level does RoT kick in?
Does Lumberjacking affect damage with an axe?

.. These type of questions. I would love to be able to help with this when the time comes.

Yes we are planning on putting a wiki up soon. :)

We were actually just talking about this the other day.

So do you guys skype?

I think the 10-in-10's are great but I still have so many questions about... all of them. A wiki is a great move.

Out of interest, who is 'we'? I'm not sure it has been stated who is in the team.

I'm glad you guys are putting up a wiki, its a great idea and I cant wait to start skimming through it. Dont get me wrong, Az's 10 in 10 is fantastic, and I have read through all of that, but a wiki should cover in detail every aspect of the games structure. Things should be more easily located there than looking through the forums for us newbs

A wiki exists, but we haven't gotten around to making it look pretty yet.

Screw aesthetics. If I can get detailed info on mechanics in IPY 2 I'll be happy, even if it looks like dog ****! I've been referring to the UOSA Wiki wondering how much I'm reading about will actually apply in IPY. As was mentioned earlier, I've been looking at things like LJ bonus to axes and have been unable to find that info in the forums, and that is going to affect the templates I'm building. So yeah, look forward to it being posted! (As well as the 10 in 10 this week :p )

I know you guys are working hard and will sit patiently in the corner until you throw us scraps at your leisure. ;)
