Ive like this idea now for a while not just for UO but for any pvp game.

A good example would be the game Guild Wars which was a popular guild pvp game for a while, and still is semi popular ect. This game had problems with sync dumping of people and a counter to this ended up being a time based reflect spell instead of a quantity based reflect spell.

I dont know if other versions are doable but maybe even versions of reflect that give bonuses to strength or health based on the amount of damage dealt within the reflect time period. So the larger the gank that was stopped by the reflect the more health or str the person would get.

i like stuff like this as it offers some sort of counter vs dumps but also gives a player a lil more strategic options and indeed maybe the option to fight a gank squad solo.

off the top of my head id say a 3sec duration, semi fast casting, lil lower than flamestrike mana cost spell.

Actually, we have done something very interesting with Magic Reflect that's going over well with PvPers.

Interesting. Does it do anything that addresses the root of the sync problem? Which is that you usually can't even target a spell before your friend is dead from the instant and insane damage?

true from this standpoint it probably wouldnt fix the "problem". unless you precasted the spell and timed it right. although it definitely wouldnt make the situation any worse.

perhaps a precasted reflect spell that is set off if too many spells hit you in too short of a time span. gettin a lil complicated with this though.
