I was going to advocate the quick fix, and ask for help with a mass google search. But instead, i think its best to do the sort of google bomb which will be longer lasting. Ultimately it will be more fruitful for the shard.

The issue however, with this sort of google bomb, is that one person cannot do it alone. We will need as many people posting on EVERY site listed.

This will be time consuming, and sort of a pain in the ass. But if we can get 15-20 people to commit to this, ipy should dominate google for a long time to come. Again though, we need to do this thoroughly.

second edit: As written later, this is to be in conjunction with a mass site visit (which does work, exploiting google "trends" algorithm). I have found a site which does all the work for you. Just open up this link and leave it. IPY will be a hot trend in no time.

Spiders crawl not only for relevance but also for popularity and likeliness that the context (content) is reliable through hits, legitimate & verified sister-site pass through links & other SEO crap . There's various algorithms that ensure this. The methods described did work in around 2005, though.

It will work with a mass google search. Just unable to locate the site which proxy swaps for you. When i find it i will post it. But for now, this is one half of the equation which needs doing. As a cs major, id be nice if you actually contributed.

In short, hes right. Without mass google searches for relevance, this wont work. But in conjunction with this, mass google searches will be more effective in not just getting ipy up on google, but keeping it there longer than a day or two.

unfortunately i cannot find the site which automates the google bomb for you. So i guess we'll have to download auto clickers (google can sniff 3rd party tools ala net tools). Download a simple auto clicker. Set it to click every .5 seconds. Go to google, type in "Free MMO Ultima Online inporylem.com" then get your auto clicker to click search. Do this just before you go to work, or go afk for a long time. If we get 20-30 people doing this, ipy will be number 1 in no time. If we do what i mentioned earlier, it will stay there for longer than a day.

Edit: This is equally important as what was written earlier. And before an unnamed negative nancy comes on, this is what 4chan does with their google bombs (the mass searches). It works. It simply becomes a "trend" though, which will fade in time. Which is why the first post is important.

I was also under the impression that we weren't going to "spam" other sites like ******** etc. I think were doing fine with what we have now and we don't need to pull the spam card its annoying and desperate.

For those of you uncomfortable or not willing to spam sites, there is still a way you can help, without being a nuisance to anyone. I found a site that will work. Ive done all the work. Just type in this link and hit enter, then go to work, school, about your day. We need everyone doing this though for it to work.

you are wrong. Ive been doing it for the last hour. This site swaps a proxy every 15 seconds (or something like that). No captcha here. But thanks for being your usual bubbly self

Am I missing something? I didn't know Google was going to play... and all along I've thought that talking to friends or word-of-mouth posts on gamer forums was the best way to bring more people into the community and get them on the server...

I found a page which wont ever result in captcha and can do a search 20 times in the interval you choose. Go to http://www.lazywebtools.co.uk/cycler.html then type this new link http://www.google.ca/#hl=en&source=hp&biw=997&bih=593&q=free+mmo+ultima+online+www.inporylem.com&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=free+mmo+ultima+online+www.inporylem.com&gs_rfai=&fp=9000686101e0b807 into all 20 slots. Set the time interval at 2 then click launch. Each person will be able to mass search this phrase 600 times per minute without any captcha.
