"The simple fact that I might actually be able to PLAY Ultima again. I don't mean macroing in my house, I mean, going out to the GY, hitting up some skeletons and zombies for hours on end, and actually having some FUN doing it. Isn't that where the magic was? In your first stage of playing the game, it seems that everything after that just became mandatory, as if you HAD to play, but it just brings a tear to my eye when I think of those first few moments of magic." - Walt Disney

Everything is going to be alright my dearies.

I personally believe that the music in UO is probably one of the top 5 things that make the game so great. Pure nostalgia whenever I listen to it, I enter a different world when I just hear a little bit of it.

it sounds a lot different now on surround sound with better audio. instead of my old 250mhz processor and 64 megs of ram comp with generic 1995 speakers. i actually like the old digital crappier sounding version more, or i think i do based on nostalgia..

You knew you were starting to get the hang of UO when you immediately turned foot steps and music off upon making a new character.
I think it was maybe a month or two before I realized how to do that.

The 'war mode' music was SO annoying. I was so happy when I finally figured out how to that that **** off...

Yeah it was annoying, but the most annoying part was the slight lag when tabbing in and out of combat because it had to change music. /rolls eyes

The combat mode music was superb! I will always remember the adrenaline pump I'd receive whenever I'd hear that music come on. Instant fight or flight response.

It wasn't until a few (6+) months later, when Ultima became more of a chore then a hobby, that I would get irritated with the music. Generally it would equate to me dying, and I simply became a product of classical conditioning. :'(
