It varies. Different master scrolls are dropped by different mobs. Gargoyles, as an example, drop Energy Field master scrolls.

what is meant by master scrolls?? im just talking about regular level 7-8 mage scrolls

The only way to get a 7th or 8th circle scroll is to scribe them, on this server. A scribe can only scribe a 7th or 8th circle scroll if they have the related Master Scroll (such as Master Scroll of Gate). Also, each time you craft a scroll using a master scroll, it consumes some of the charges, until eventually the Master Scroll breaks.

Oh way cool, thanks tenebrion... i musta just got really lucky getting a resurrect scroll off a dead red.

Res scrolls can actually be bought off of NPC vendors in town for 2,000g, and scribed without the use of a master scroll. Same thing goes with Mana Vampire.

These two scrolls were added specifically so that scribes could continue skilling up without needing to burn through master scrolls.
