This poll is simply to find out which city most would like to see unguarded for the reds.

Well, besides Buc's Den I would have to say Serpents Hold. Second would be Nu'Jelom.

before the original post was deleted by accident, I had added that this poll was with insumption that Buc's Den was recall/gate friendly. Which would allow reds to have a second town.
I chose Serps Hold first, and Cove as second.
A lot of people like Transic, however I think Cove would be great due to it's high density potential, and Serpent's Hold just had that "I'm a badass because I bank here" feel to it anyways.

There is no "none" option?
I am not a fan of the red town idea, promote fighting in dungeons and out of town hot spots.. towns see enough traffic as is.

Jhelom.
The only upside to Jhelom being red would be it's bank location to the water.

I was considering a none option, but then I thought the chance of AZ giving the reds a town was likely high (Transic being the #1 guess), and this would be pressing more for a player input into the melting pot.
Don't get me wrong, It's AZ's ultimate call, and he very well may just not give them a town, but you've got to figure the reds at one point or another they will be be requesting one.

I would certainly like Trinsic to be red...But... since the Kings additions and O/C being in a huge spotlight, and thus highly played (I hope), I would rather have Trinsic as an O/C battleground as it was back in Cats iirc. Those were some good times. Anyway my second thought would be to have SH as a red town, who would disagree with that!

Thing is, Kings decide if a town has guards or not anyway... So if the reds were to band together as citizens of a certain town, they could elect a red king and he could switch the guards off and boom... You have your red town, made by the players not designated by Az... I really think this as a whole is his vision, us players creating what the happens in the game world within the limits (hopefully few) that he sets.

A lot of the threads & ideas raised by players and administration over the past few weeks seem to be going backwards pretty fast. I've also noticed little pseudo-10.in.10s smoke-screened as "Discussion posts" by Az to give the Pigeons something to nibble on while waiting. Those ideas have been mostly negative in my opinion also.

You don't like the idea of a reds banding together and creating new murderer driven towns?

Aye, but I'm refering to a kingless, unguarded town that is from day 1 with out guards or rule.
Do you think Buc's will have a King position? I was in the assumption it wouldn't.

Nah, Bucs will be a different deal entirely, lawless, no ruler for more than a short period of time (whoever controlls the docks) those being the kings overthrown daily... So there would be no use for elections and a proper King of Bucs Den, when I originally thought about it I thought a set red town outside of bucs would be good considering bucs is the way it is, but when I think about it more I'd much rather it be up to the players in game to decide if there is a red town, rather than telling Az on forums we want one set. If reds want to work together towards voting a murderous leader to the top of any certain town and turn it into the new bucs den then so be it, if they cant work together to do that, then tough life for them, they can still use bucs, it will just be harder.

Hey hey hey.... Let's not give them any ideas now :p
J/k
I'm thinking red will be horribly underdogged from the get go. Why not start then off with an extra red town on launch, and let the blues take it back if they are willing so.

How do you propose that would work? Just like, one of the towns is unguarded at launch, but it's still a town with kings so if a blue king gets into power they can put the guards back up?

With the kings system isnt it possible for every city with a king to potentially be a 'red' city.... as kings can control guard zones?

Potentially, but as long as blues vote this wont happen, although the past has proven reds usually dominate blues (and people will argue to the point of the game going down this ****hole, even if I wont) fact still remains there are a lot more blues than reds, it's just that the good players go red. You dont need to be any better than the next person to vote, so because of just numbers alone people shouldn't really allow this to happen, sure people could mess up and vote in a corrupt king who decides to switch guards off for his term, but then he will probably be voted out next time. On top of that, reds seem to have a problem co-existing and co-operating outside of small friend circles, so even securing enough votes to get one town might be a stretch if the reds cant work together on it...
All comes down to Az' original goal, to let the players police/run the world themselves... It's up to us to decide how this **** plays out.

Exactly. Let the blues fight for it if they want it.

I agree completly..
While I was reading your post. It just clicked in my head how amazing that would be. Az has awesome dreams. Assuming that indeed.. was his dream.

For sure, from what has been said I'm sure this is his goals. He wants to have as little input on how the game plays out as possible, and leave it all in the hands of the players to decide what happens.
