Is there a trick to getting "target by type" macros to work correctly? I often get messages stating that the item is not accessible or it is too far away, even though there are plenty of eligible items in my pack.

Sure, maybe I can help you.
Razor does target by type but often doesn't take in to account distance.
For example, you want to use a dagger (by type) and there are 3 that are near you. One of them may not be in your pack and a few tiles away. When razor tries to use the dagger it selects one. How it selects one I don't know. What I DO know is that it will sometimes try and use that one farther away from you and cause a message like "you cannot use that object, it is too far away"..
This also happens with mobile targets, such as a snake you're provoking. You provoke two snakes of the same type and sometimes razor will try and provoke the same snake at itself. It's going based on type.
This is why absolute targets are better sometimes. I generally use target by type however.
What I want to know is why target by relative position currently isn't working on the server..
