If you're new to UO, download AIM, and send TenebrionUO a message ; I'll be more than happy to help anyone learn the ropes of Ultima Online, and answer any newbie questions you might have.
Likewise, if you're a veteran player of UO, but have completely forgotten a lot of important information, or just simply aren't sure about a few of the newer features, hit me up.
As always, as long as I'm at my keyboard and not busy, I'll be perfectly willing to answer anything you might need to know.

So far I've helped several dozen players, and there are a number of people who talk to me multiple times daily.
Don't be shy!

There are a lot of new players that need assistance to this game. I've encountered players who are completly new to the game. That would be the ultimate thank you from the shard. More players is never a bad thing :P

Well, if you have a higher tolerance for tedium, and have a lot of time on your hands, mining. You can earn roughly 2,000g per hour mining.
This'll get you enough gold for a villa in about a week's time, with moderate mining done per day.

Smelting the ore and selling the ingots?
Or crafting into BS items and selling them to armor'ers?
PS Thanks :D I farm monsters, but break about even with the cost of magery gains.

Crafting and selling items will net 2g per ingot while players only pay 1.6, trade off for selling to players is quick gold versus the mind numbing selling of 1000's of shields to vendors.

Hell, the economy's starting to pick up. I'm seeing ingots sell to players at 2g per more and more lately - so a miner could probably neglect smithing the ingots entirely and still make a tidy profit.
For people who don't want to craft, but still want gold, I'd suggest starting a character with either 50 taming or 50 provoking - both of these skills are simply amazing for PVE, and great fun to boot. Best of all, you can can always drop these skills later if you decide you want the points for better PVP skills.
