For some time now, you have come across this parchment bearing what appears to be the sigil of a great house. You have seen it attached to taverns and banks and passed between the citizenry of the major cities and most small towns of Britannia. Having previously only been able to catch glimpses of the parchment as you went about your business, your curiosity has finally gotten the better of you and you stop to read the document at your local bank.
Upon closer inspection, you see that the sigil bears the image of a mountain in the background covered by two crossed axes in the foreground. Under the sigil is written the words House Stengard, and under that is a map displaying territory in the north. Your interest is peaked and you read the document in its entirety:
Lords, ladies and free-folk of Britannia, his Lordship Mundi Stengard sends his greetings and warm regards, though he regrets that this missive finds you with ill tidings from the north. House Stengard has sworn to protect the southern realm from the brigands of Wrong and have never faltered in this duty. Of late however, the brigands of Wrong have proven too strong for our army, and our stronghold has been overrun. The brigands have forced us to migrate southward from our traditional territory and we have established a new town south of the forest.
This devastating invasion has reduced our citizenry and army to meager numbers, and we are desperate to return our House to its former glory. As we rebuild ourselves from this disaster, we would call upon any able-bodied nobility or free-folk who wish to serve House Stengard, and protect the north from further incursion, to travel to our lands and present yourself to his Lordship’s steward.
Long has House Stengard stood vigilant against the brigands who dwell in the mountain, protecting the south from many invasions that would have taken the lives of countless people – lives which have been spared only by the deaths of our brave men and women. Come, avenge the deaths of those who secured your peace for these many years and join us in our cause. Glory to House Stengard!

OOC: As you may be able to tell, this guild is loosely based on the A Song of Ice and Fire novel series as well as the A Game of Thrones HBO series. If you are familiar with the stories, the guild takes on the characteristics of House Stark – a strong, honourable house with norse-like characteristics. The guild is not good or evil, but will always work towards its own ends, those being what is best for itself.
There are positions available for any type of character, from the lowest peasant to the highest ranking soldier. Experienced members will even have the opportunity to create a character that can be a member of the noble house itself.
It is our intention to be involved in the politics of town wars, intra-guild plots, and to work with other roleplaying guilds in developing larger roleplaying plots that may often lead to bloodshed but are, most importantly, an enjoyable experience for all those involved.
We have an established town with many buildings, including a large tower, and there are still many plots open for you to place your own building within the town.
If you are interested in joining, please contact Dagoroth on forums or irc.
We very much look forward to hearing from you!
