Atleast not Blacksmith "Todd Hockney".

I know you shouldn't be naive or gullible in a game. I had just purchased a chainmail tunic at a vendors place for 70 gold.
Went to the graveyard and did some monster bashing. After a little while it said "your equipment is in bad shape" or something like that.

At the blacksmiths place there were some people and the good Mr Hockney said he was able to repair my gear. I handed him some pieces for evaluation, but they were ok. Traded over the tunic to the blacksmith.
I'd seen him stand around there so I figured he was atleast a blacksmith.. :)

"Yeah, the chainmail was the problem
so I smelted it for ya
peace out"

... and off he ran. With my tunic, and in effect my 70 gold.

I had to laugh about it. But still, as a notice to new people - don't trust anyone.
Myself, I tend to believe in the good of man. I help people out and hope they pass it on. Some karma-crap, I dunno.
Gonna cut back on that now.

Atleast towards "Todd Hockney". Karma will bite him in the ass. Sooner or later.

Hmmm, who is this "noone" you speak of, and why should I trust him?

Isn't this literally the oldest trick in the book?

Yeah, it really is! And I thought noone was that petty any more. When you approach your 30's you start to... I dunno, trust people. Foolish mistake. ;)
