So the plot, was rushed in the first few minutes of the film, then the movie got boring. Whiny Shia can't find a job despite having an Ivy league education. He has a super-model girlfriend, and a pimp condo. Oh, life is so hard! And he feels so unappreciated the whole time because he saved the world twice and must face the daily grind of life with his obvious enviable perks. What a bitchy brat.

The movie was filled with patriotic symphonic tunes all the while portraying the government bureaucrats as the bad guys and using the autobots for American imperialism and furthering paranoid foreign policy. They basically make autobots their bitches. The autobots seem to recognize their reliance on making Earth their home, and accept their place as American military tools, while the Decepticons recognize their obvious supremacy as a species to humans and decide to make Earth their bitches.

Sentinal Prime, Optimus' figurative father and mentor is brought back from the moon, and continues his desperate measures to side with the decepticons to save his dying race. He did what he thought was best and has to betray Optimus and the autobots because of their virtuous nature prevents them from making tough decisions a true leader must make.

I disliked how the movie insinuated that a single person can change the world with simple idea or principle. **** the hard decisions to save your race. Taking over a planet is a practical and understandable choice. The theme of the movie was not singular.

Transformers, although genius and technologically advanced, exhibit the hormonal balance of immature preteens. I thought it was so childish, the need to make people laugh or entertain little children at the expense of serious and meaningful dialogue. Of course, it's a Michael Bay film, and I shouldn't have expected any better.

I found the ended a bit unsettling, first Megatron is manipulated by daft woman into saving Prime as he lay dying and about to be executed by Sentinel Prime. So as Optimus recovers after Megatron SAVES him, he is offered a truce and understanding by Megatron. What happens next? Optimus kills the guy who saved his life! Then deals with Sentinel, who lay dying, explains that he only did what he felt was necessary to survive, admitting he made the decision and will be viewed as the bad guy for it but he wanted to save his race. He begs for mercy and then is executed by Optimus! Sentinel Prime was his father figure, mentor. Talk about psychotic. People actually cheered at the end.

I admit the movie picked up at the ending. The action was nice and intense while the pointless dialogue ceased. The film had a few moments of beauty and cinematic awe (not cg) such as panoramic scenes and shia looking out the window in the car while watching the end of the world. Very impressive visuals and the movie conveyed so much more emotions when the worthless dialogue ceased. Michael Bay really can tell a story without dialogue.

I ended up buying the 3d because of time constraints. 3D is garbage and I found myself taking the glasses off repeatedly because I would rather watch it normally despite being slightly blurry. 3d is a gimmick and only really worth it's purchase for Avatar.

Anyways, I enjoy sharing my thoughts since I had to watch this film alone. I normally never do that, but I had to get out for fresh air the day after I finished my chemistry finals. This movie is worth seeing, only for the ending 45 mins and the complete betrayal scene by Optimus. Skip 3D ripoff.

I didn't like the fact that the action scene at the end went for basically an hour non stop... I find action scenes like that get boring. Too much of anything for lengthy periods gets boring, they needed to break that **** up a little bit. I had similar thoughts about T2 in the desert scene.

That Victoria secret model is a babe though, but got annoying corny when they would play awe inspiring music any time she would enter a scene and most the time put it in slow motion to boot.

I was calling 3D a ridiculous gimmick that'd die out very quickly SINCE Avatar. People would actually disagree with me.

I was right.

I thought Avatar was the only movie that was actually filmed for 3D? And the rest were just altered with computers to appear so?

Either way, I've only seen Avatar in 3D and I liked it..it wasn't too crazy but things really jumped off the screen during the big battles.

Did it ever come to your attention that the "good cars" are ALWAYS some US brand and the "bad cars" are from european/other countrys?

You are so right, I didn't catch that much. I guess that fits in with the theme geared towards Americans saving the day on top of the 4th of July time of release. The music sounded like it came from an American military recruiting commercial. great observation though. I am not so sure it was purposefully done, because it could be a result of marketing. I think they completely altered the ending as well. WHY?

Meh... it was OK. I was entertained but not a great movie. I couldn't get over how they just drop in that new bimbo and really don't explain anything. Damn movie is three hours long... think they could have squeezed in more than 15 seconds spread over that 3 hours to vaguely explain why?

The dialogue ruined the movie. The visual storytelling was well done in some parts though.

Michael Bay wants to make box office. that's why he sucks for anyone over the age of 11.

but, a scene in Transformers where Shia is looking out the taxi at destruction reminded me instantly of Joker hanging his head out of the police cruiser. Just a great scene for me.
