Tasos made a post on the Darkfall yesterday that said the new patch that was coming up was not just a big patch but an entirely new game. Most people are speculating that there will be either a server wipe or a new server for new players to start fresh on.

Some of the major issues with the original DF are suppose to be addressed. The horrible grind, PVE and seiges and tons of other stuff that is supposed to be fixed.

DF really is a good game but AV just made too many mistakes for the game to be really successful. But, I have a lot of hope that if Darkfall 2.0 is actually a new game with these issues addressed combined with a large marketing campaign it could find a niche and attract a lot of players craving a new sandbox.

Any DF players here or any of you planning of going back if this actually happens?

I trial'd the game a couple months ago and was thouroughly impressed. I'd be willing to give it a go if some of the grind was reduced and I had a fighting chance.

I love DF. Unfortunately I don't have a computer now that is powerful enough to handle it without huge pings and getting ganked every 5 minutes.

I HOPE they change the way the game views and riding controls are set up. The whole 'fps' view is fine but at least give me the option of looking sideways somehow without having to go in that direction.

Can't wait to play again!

I have a free lifetime subscription so I actually will peep this. Not expecting anything good, though.

How did you get a free lifetime sub?

I enjoyed DF very much. Would like to see the game rereleased with a new model and some mild changes in place. AV seems very committed to their game.

I really enjoyed DFO but am a casual player now that I have a family. DFO didn't cater too much to that type of player until the off-line skill gain yet you still had to farm gold to train. I love that with UO you can set up in 5 mins and have pvp. With DFO it takes a bit longer and then a ton of time running around looking for pvp. But it really felt like an upgraded (graphics wise) UO. Also, love the targetting but don't have nearly the fine motor skills I once had...

I'll have to speak with several of my guildies whom still play to get their take/scoop on it.

DF was a fun game, this might be worth a look. But remember these guys are infamous for milking another box cost out of their customers. If they go charging 50 bucks for it, itll fail.

If not ill have to peep the trial.
