I've been fiddleling around with screen size and resolution with the classic client and found out that Windows Magnifier can help here without the need for changing windows resolution or forcing resolution with Razor (which I don't think work too well, making the edges black and so forth).
I myself have a 24" screen, which makes the uo client very small. Using Windows Magnifier and zooming in 150% the client gets the right size for me. Just remember to change the tracking options so it doesn't follow your mouse pointer.
I don't know if there's smarter ways to enlarge the client, but this seems to work.
