So the Mac Question

Anyway..

I run on a mac over here in school land and in preparation for IPY I decided to give UO a test run. I am using Wine

Basically I got everything installed all fine, razor and UO and patched up to 6.0.3.something

All set there (if people want to know how I guess I can give a detailed description)

Now the problem is, whenever I open UO I get the window open but it remains gray and then freezes. Then it crashes. I can see razor and interact with the razor window, but the UO client just freezes and crashes. Consistently. I'm sure someone knows the answer to this because I've seen UO running on Macs through Wine

Quick suggestion:

I'm not a Mac user, but have you tried Virtual Box, or what's the Mac equivlent, Bootcamp? Do you have access to a legit copy of Windows?

Might be better off using one of those.

My brother has a bran new Imac 27" and he's had same problems playing UOSA.

What I've learned is since UO was on a Windows XP platform, it's best to get either Parallels or Bootcamp along with XP to run your game.

Best thing to do is find a reliable torrent site, download WinXP with a coporate Seriel# and what ever you do, NEVER update your windows client or it will just jacked it all to hell.

also don't forget your windows frameware patches that you download seperately where are linked here if you don't have them already.

Yea I know the bootcamp method and all that fun stuff--I just wanted to give this a try. I've got it installed, it just crashes when I try to run it. I've seen it working for other people so I just figured I'd give a shout out here to see if any of those other people are around :)

Ok if anyone is going to be able to help me here is where I stand..

I've gotten logged in to UO and I can log into my accounts on Hybrid. The problem now is that it seems like the Razor/UO windows are being shuffled by Alt-Tabbing millions of times. Anyone know what to do about that?

I'm running Winebottler.

If you have any knowledge on the subject I'm totally lost with how to get the razor counters to display and I haven't spent any time looking into it yet. Also if you got it to work with any way other than Wine/bootcamp (I know there is winebottler out there that I didn't get to work well) go ahead and post it as well.
