Bad news for you then. Michael/Steve Carell is leaving the show after just a few more episodes.
Side note: Did anybody know that Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert were the voice actors for the characters on the SNL Skit The Ambiguously Gay Duo?

I did know they were Ace and Gary :)
Michaels supposed to be gone 4 eps before the end of the season. I'm thinkin they're setting it up for him to retire to be with Holly.
They will screentest the new boss over the last 4 episodes and if he maintains ratings the show will likely continue a few more seasons.

Well considering the new boss over the last 4 episodes will be Will Ferrell I doubt they will have any ratings problems lol

The Office will have jumped the shark, probably. But it was amazing for a long time.

the office has been really bad since the major focus has solely been on office relationships and never got off that wagon.

Well obviously Jim and Pam getting married is the point at which the shark was jumped. No show ever remains popular after their main characters relieve the sexual tension they have with each other. The story remains interesting as long as everyone's with the "wrong" person. So Pam would have had to have a go round with Toby before eventually getting with Jim, keep Erin with the tall decaying skeleton, and keep putting obstacles between Michael and Holly.
Will Ferrell is hilarious in movies but I highly question his ability to carry this role. He should be a patch and nothing more. End the show at the end of this season.
We've got Fringe, Shameless, Weeds (1 more season max), and good old Mythbusters to pick up the slack :). I'd include V but now that the aliens have revealed their pseudo-science "soul sucking" machines it's taken a ridiculous religious twist for the worse. They are opening the door to miracles, myth, bull****, even the possibility that Jesus wipes the aliens out himself. I know warp drives, flux capacitors, and stargates are fake but at least are based on potential undiscovered science, the folding of space is something that can be achieved one day. Soul sucking is not. UGH! /rant.

It was part of it. But mainly it's about people completely failing at self awareness.
In funny ways. In real life those people aren't funny at all.

The Office is the only show I have ever made a point of watching. I still think the show is the best thing on network TV, but IMO, peaked at season two. In season two, the Jim and Pam drama was THICK, Michael's antics were fresh and believable, and the ongoing risk of downsizing was in everyone's mind. Plus Dwight and Angela's awkward and painful relationship was newly budding.
Short story short: Season Two > 1,3,4,5,6,7

Yeah, the show has jumped the shark at this point probably. It had a limited lifespan from the get go, but it was absolutely hilarious and I'll watch reruns for many years.

Will Farrel? :( I had heard somewhere that it was going to be Will Arnett which probably could've done the show a few favors.
