Wind becomes the much sought-after source of daily O/C/B battles and organized daily endgame PvP.
Wind is a much smaller game than the weekly worldwide 'battleground'. Combat is designed to be concentrated, with the two potentially weaker factions automatically pitted against the more dominant faction at any given time.
The battle for Wind is meaningful outside of the simple desire to pwn your fellow IPYers. The winner each night controls Wind for 24 hours, allowing their militia and all of the citizens of their militia's alliance (Order, Chaos, or Balance) access to the city of Wind and the surrounding caverns.
Wind becomes a dungeon area and now applies a significant bonus to all skill gain within.
All creatures in Wind now drop skill scrolls at a 200% rate automatically.
Wind also provides an entrance to the Fire Dungeon.
To enter, the time must be between 7pm and 7:45pm Eastern. In the future, this may become a rotating schedule to accommodate our European friends a bit better.
The Floating Entrance Cap
Initially, seven players from each faction will be allowed entrance. This is to keep the game largely free of 'ganking'.
If all teams have seven players inside of Wind, the cap raises to 8. If everyone has 8, the cap raises to 9.
This continues to 12.
Inactive users are removed from the field of play automatically.
The Wind Fragment
The Wind Fragment is the objective of this battleground.
Holding the Wind Fragment causes points to be gained for the holding faction. The longer the fragment is held, the more points the faction gains.
The fragment may be dropped and transferred to an alliance friend at any time. The points will carry over.
When the holder is killed, the fragment also drops. There is a 3 second delay before the fragment can be picked up after it drops.
While holding the Wind Fragment, the carrier cannot cast offensive spells.
While holding the Wind Fragment, the carrier moves at 75% speed.
Located around Wind are Wind Braziers. These braziers can be lit using normal brazier dust.
For each of these braziers that are lit by the alliance holding the Wind Fragment, gained points are doubled.
The victory condition is 500 points.
After 7:45pm Eastern, the game goes into Overtime. All gained points are doubled every two minutes.
After the battleground ends, all opposing alliance members will be immediately removed from Wind and unable to enter until the next night.
