IPY rewards the PvE'er with gear-enhancements to their PvE game (no benefits to PvP at all) as well as various loot drops that will cause the PvE'er to seek out and require the assistance of a crafter.

Encounters

IPY is not just adding monsters to kill. Its dungeons, portals, and spiffified overworld areas are and will be both interesting creature encounters, but also encounters with puzzles, mazes, quests, achievements, and interactive environments. Many of these are included in game, with much more to come.

Paragons

Paragons are special monsters than can only spawn within the dungeons Deceit and Hythloth. After killing any regular monster in these dungeons, the next spawn has about a 5% chance to be a Paragon. This is a golden version of the same monster you just killed with enhanced skills and stats and better loot. Higher level paragons can also drop artifact items and Paragon chests, special metal chests that contain extra loot on top of what the paragon already carries and always a treasure map.

Paragons are also the only place to get slayer weapons. If you kill an undead paragon, you might get a Silver weapon. If you kill a Daemon paragon, you might get a weapon of Daemon Dismissal. If you get a slayer weapon, it will be attuned to the type of creature the paragon came from.

Gems

Gems will be added to IPY2 is subsequent patches.

To connect PvE'ers and crafters, gems will be added to monster loot tables. These gems will provided enhancements when applied to magic weapons and/or armor.

One may find a water emerald that, once inserted with a crafter's assistance, gives an existing magical weapon +3 damage versus ratmen. Or a fire diamond that, when hammered into a piece of magic armor, provides +10 strength versus dragons.

Master Scrolls

Another way IPY is linking PvE'ers with crafters is by the implementation of Master Scrolls. These will be highly sought after by mages and inscription crafters a like.

High End Loot / PvE Plate Sets

The current high end reward table consists of 44 (22 mage, 22 warrior) PvE platemail sets. Being that there are no special ore colors in game (just like IPY), the fact that these sets are hued exactly as the oldest of the old school 1997 hued plate sets raises their value based on that alone.

In addition, these plate sets provide specific bonuses against monsters and monster types, as well as being attuned to certain dungeons, providing bonuses within.

For example, our Light Gold Hythloth (a level 1 set, or the most common, though none are common) plate has the following set bonuses:

   Mage Set:
+Full meditation (AR equivalent of exceptional leather)
   +10% magic damage to demons/gargoyles
   +20% Lightning damage to demons/gargoyles
+1% Lightning proc on weapon hit against demons/gargoyles
   Warrior Set:
   +10% weapon damage to demons/gargoyles
-10% magic damage taken from demons/gargoyles
   55 ar against demons/gargoyles

Here's the first level of four types (Gold, Rose, Bronze, Grey). Look to a future patch for the introduction of our Black sets, and how to get them.
