IPY, or In Por Ylem, is the most popular free version of Ultima Online in history. The sequel - IPY2 - is adding new features to the game, aimed at solving the problems of the past and providing plenty of new options for play. Pirating and blasting other people's ships with cannons, becoming a Paladin, participating in massive worldwide faction wars for control of cities and territory.. and more.
In Por Ylem is a "Classic" version of Ultima Online, stepping back to before a time when the game was changed, in the opinion of many, for the worse. It will attempt to start over, and re-evolve in a manner more befitting the original concept of the game - freedoms, player interaction, player justice and accountability, great PvP, and a broad, deep gameplay experience unrivaled in today's online games.

Completely Unofficial IPY IRC Channels (Active!)
I'm really old school and its very hard to beat the usual means of doing things when it comes to UO and I seem to share similar sentiments about group communication outside of UO. With IPY opening its doors tonight and lots of requests for an IRC in the forums I got two channels registered for us here:

- ipy (general discussion)
- ipytrade (real time trading and advertising in game deals)
- ipyroleplay (...roleplay...duh!)
Be sure to log in and register your name before things really get rolling. There's already a handful of people. I will make sure everyone has fair access to the channel, they aren't abused by any OP's I choose, and the only thing I'll be enforcing beside the obvious (no spamming, hacking, etc) things is that everyone will need to treat each other with respect in the channels.
DISCLAIMER: These IRC channels have zero association to the IPY staff and from what Az has said in the past I don't think they ever will.
I do need some moderating help so if you have a good rapport with me or the community in general, contact me in IRC and we'll take about getting you set up with OP status. I hope to see everyone on tonight during the server launch, in IRC and in game!
